Build day-in, day-out performance equipment
Picture your workday starting with a fresh build sheet. As a Precision Assembly Technician, you’ll take pre-determined work orders and transform individual components into professional-grade cutting and sawing equipment for concrete, tile, masonry, metal, and hole saw applications—plus other products fabricated in our Production area. From subassembly to final test, you’ll bring each machine to life.
How you’ll spend your day
- Receive work orders and parts kits from the Lead Person or Supervisor; verify part accuracy and condition, and immediately flag questionable or defective parts.
- Pre-assemble parts for assigned saws or trowels, including wiring engines, motors, and switchboxes; assemble engine components, water pumps, blade shafts and guards, front and rear axles, transmissions, cutting heads, and other assemblies.
- Use hand tools and pneumatic tools to build complete saws, applying techniques such as sanding, oiling, measuring, bolting, wiring, aligning, tightening, and torqueing.
- Read blueprints and follow documented and written instructions to ensure every step meets specification.
- Finish and touch-up completed units, apply serial number decals, and, when required, perform painting.
Quality is built in
- Perform test runs to confirm proper operation.
- Complete inspection paperwork using checklists and notify your Supervisor when the unit is ready for final inspection.
- Crate or box finished machines, insert the correct literature and tools, and stage for pick-up.
- Clean and maintain your tools and work area daily; report any tool repair needs.
- Uphold high-quality standards: precise fit-up, reliable operation, and clean finishes/touch-ups as needed.
- Recommend improvements to procedures and specifications.
- Follow safe work practices and promptly report safety or ergonomic concerns to your Supervisor.
What you bring
- 1–2 years of mechanical assembly experience; automotive or shop background is a plus.
- Comfort following verbal and written work instructions and blueprints.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to safely handle pneumatic tools that generate vibration for short durations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; solid hand tool skills; readiness to learn specialized processes, including electrical wiring.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and able to follow directions.
