Precision CNC Lathe/Mill Machinist

Location: East side of Indianapolis

Shift: 1st

Pay: $20–$25/hr BOE

What your day looks like

You’ll begin your shift by reviewing prints and job travelers, confirming GD&T callouts, tolerances, and inspection checkpoints. You’ll set up and adjust CNC lathes and mills, dial in workholding, and verify tooling and offsets. As parts come off the machine, you’ll check critical dimensions with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other hand metrology tools, making on-the-spot adjustments to maintain quality. Throughout the day, you’ll keep an eye on throughput and safety, communicate status to your lead, and document inspection results to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes and mills to manufacture precision components
• Perform setups and make machine adjustments to hold tight tolerances
• Conduct dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately, including GD&T
