Build the next generation of aerospace manufacturing

At Cutting Dynamics (Avon, Ohio), part of Re:Build Manufacturing, our mission is simple and ambitious: deliver unmatched value in aerospace components, assemblies, and kitting through measurable objectives, industry‑leading technology, and continuous improvement. With 30+ years serving aerospace and other advanced sectors, we’re scaling with the support of Re:Build—a growing family of engineering and industrial companies combining enabling technologies, operational excellence, and strategic M&A to revitalize U.S. manufacturing across aerospace, defense, mobility, healthcare, pharma, biotech, clean tech, energy, chemicals, lifestyle, food production, and industrial equipment.

Your impact

As a Precision CNC Machining Operator–Setter, you’ll take ownership of complex setups and reliable execution across multi‑axis mills and lathes. Picture this: you receive a new aerospace part, set up a 4‑axis vertical, validate your workholding and offsets, and run a short pre‑production lot. You document every inspection result per the routing, collaborate with Quality to fine‑tune a feature, and then transition the job into stable production—safely, efficiently, and to spec.

Core responsibilities

  • Perform complete setups on 3-, 4-, and 5‑axis CNC mills or CNC lathes to meet customer specifications.
  • Verify readiness and safely operate vertical and horizontal machining centers after setup.
  • Run production and non‑production jobs while supporting quality and process standards on the shop floor.
  • Inspect to Process Routing Documents and capture results for traceability and conformance.
  • Troubleshoot machining and quality issues with supervisors and Quality personnel.
  • Complete production reports and associated documentation.
  • Perform daily equipment maintenance and sustain a clean, organized work area.
  • Carry out manual deburring when required.
  • Adhere to all QMS procedures, work instructions, and safety standards.
  • Safeguard company, customer, and supplier property.

Shift choices

  • 1st Shift: 6:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday
  • 2nd Shift: 4:00pm–4:30am, Monday–Thursday

What sets you up for success

  • 2–5 years of CNC experience with at least 1 year of setup work.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Blueprint reading proficiency; skilled with calipers, height gauges, and micrometers.
  • Strong capability in drilling, milling, and tapping.
  • Experience with both vertical and horizontal machines.
  • Inspection competence and solid basic math.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical capacity.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
