Precision CNC Mill Operator/Programmer

When you step onto the floor at Double E in West Bridgewater, you’ll join a tight-knit crew that builds high-quality components for industrial web handling systems used across paper, film, and foil production. Your day moves fast: five or more changeovers keep the pace brisk and the work varied.

A day in your role

You start by reviewing the job queue and planning how to group similar work to minimize setup time. You dial in the CNC mill, load tools, and complete efficient setups before running a first piece. With vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators in hand, you verify features and tolerances, adjust offsets, and release the run with confidence.

Throughout the shift, you collaborate directly with your Supervisor along with Application Engineering and Programming to refine processes and improve cycle times. Between runs, you may jump in on related operations—manual machining, saw cutting, or lending a hand with core cutter assembly and service—so the whole team keeps moving.

Where you’ll work

Our Machining/Manufacturing/Assembly facility is conveniently situated two minutes from Route 24 and 106, near I‑495 in West Bridgewater.

What you’ll tackle

  • Operate CNC milling equipment in a low-volume, high-mix shop (5+ changeovers per day)
  • Analyze and batch jobs to reduce setup time and increase throughput
  • Perform accurate, efficient machine setups
  • Run first-piece inspections using vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
  • Partner with Supervisor, Application Engineering, and Programming on process improvements
  • Pitch in with related tasks as needed to support production

Grow with Double E

We invest in extensive ongoing training as part of our continuous improvement mindset—expect to sharpen your skills and expand your capabilities over time.

What you bring

  • Some CNC programming experience
  • Experience in a machine shop: minimum 3 years, or 1 year with vocational school graduation
