As a Precision CNC Milling Technician in Addison, IL, you will transform prints into parts on horizontal machining centers—using multi-axis capability, thoughtful setups, and disciplined process control. This is a direct-hire, second-shift opportunity where craftsmanship meets continuous improvement.

• Employment: Direct Hire
• Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (OT available)
• Compensation: $25–$36/hour plus 10% shift differential

Your Mission

Deliver to print, every time. You will select and install tooling, update fixturing, retrieve programs, and run efficient cycles while mentoring others and safeguarding quality.

Core Impact Areas

• Execute medium-to-complex setups on HMCs; configure fixtures and build tool holders to spec.
• Interpret blueprints and technical data; apply ANSI-based GD&T to machining strategy.
• Use machine controls to set feeds/speeds; leverage rotary/indexing, 4-axis, and 5-axis functions.
• Continuously optimize cycle times and processes; save updated programs, documents, and images.
• Inspect with approved methods and instruments; deburr in-process parts.
• Clock operations in sequence; meet departmental goals on time.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe area; complete light preventive maintenance.
• Share expertise with operators/junior machinists; collaborate with other departments professionally.
• Champion Lean, CI, and 5S; operate within ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 frameworks; follow OSHA-aligned safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least four years in a production or job-shop machining environment.
• Strong HMC background with pallet systems; 4-/5-axis machining proficiency.
• Working knowledge of G-code and standard machining methods.
• Ability to read, interpret, and act on prints and work orders; comfortable with verbal/written directions and hand sketches.
• Experienced with metrology tools: micrometers, height gages, calipers, inter-mics, bore gages, thread gages, gage pins, comparators, etc.
• Mazak experience is a plus; familiarity with Epicor or similar shop control/scheduling systems is beneficial.
• Strong communication and teamwork mindset.

Desired: Journeyman credential or completion of a four-year apprenticeship.

Physical Demands

• Near vision and accommodation to read gauges, blueprints, and precision instruments.
• Hearing acuity to detect machine sound changes and respond appropriately.
• Frequent standing, walking, pushing, overhead reaching, and bending to floor level.
• Frequent sitting; dexterity to finger, handle, or feel tools, parts, and controls.
• Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
