You arrive to organized, 5S-ready workstations and review the day’s work orders and blueprints (GD&T). You select and verify tools against the tool list, then perform set-ups on CNC lathes and mills. First articles are proven out and checked using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, comparators, and vision systems. When possible, you keep multiple machines running, loading and unloading parts while monitoring quality and throughput.
Throughout the shift, you collaborate with teammates to resolve machining challenges, maintain a safe and friendly environment, and advance continuous improvement. You record production and scrap counts in Infor Visual, drive compliance with good manufacturing and document practices, and ensure work aligns with AS9100 and ITAR requirements. You stay on task so the day’s schedule is completed on time—and you support the team with other duties as assigned.
What you’ll do
Own set-up on CNC lathes and/or mills; confirm tools match the tool list and complete first-article validation.
Verify parts meet specifications using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, comparators, and vision systems.
Read and interpret work orders, blueprints (GD&T), sketches, and written/verbal instructions.
Operate and, when feasible, tend multiple machines; load and unload parts efficiently and safely.
Keep the work area organized and clean to the highest 5S standard; report maintenance needs promptly.
Partner with team members to troubleshoot basic machining issues and share best practices.
Champion continuous improvement, safety, and a positive, collaborative shop culture.
Meet daily schedule commitments; record production and scrap in Infor Visual.
Ensure quality using good manufacturing and document practices; uphold AS9100 and ITAR compliance.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
What you bring
5+ years of CNC machining experience on mills or lathes.
3+ years of hands-on CNC set-up experience.
Reading, math, problem-solving, and comprehension skills typically associated with completion of 12th grade.
Technical college training in Machining is highly desirable.
Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and no-go gauges.
Blueprint literacy and strong understanding of GD&T.
You should be proficient in: GD&T, CNC Programming, Aerospace Manufacturing.
Physical requirements and PPE
High degree of hand–eye coordination.
Mobility to bend, lift, load/unload workpieces, and move between stations; alternate sitting/standing.
Lift 25–35 lbs throughout the day.
Perform repetitive tasks for more than 8 hours per day and on weekends as required.
Read fine print and distinguish colors.
Reach machine controls up to five feet above floor level.
