What you’ll do
- Execute expert break‑fix and preventive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and control domains; design reliability upgrades.
- Program and troubleshoot CNC/automation controls to resolve software, hardware, and configuration defects.
- Apply predictive diagnostics—infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, power quality analysis, laser interferometry, ball bar, vibration analysis—to anticipate and prevent failures.
- Champion CI projects using structured tools to deliver results and cost savings.
- Identify, source, and qualify parts; recommend engineered alternatives that boost reliability.
- Perform to industry standards independently; enforce 5S and pristine housekeeping.
- Operate machine tools (lathe, drill press, grinder) to make/repair parts; perform welding when needed.
- Investigate new maintenance methods and technologies; roll out best practices to ATS sites and update procedures.
- Contribute to cost analysis for new equipment, rebuilds, savings, and innovation proposals.
- Maintain rigorous CMMS records; mine data to drive action.
- Provide technical inputs for sales quotations; complete time‑and‑materials assignments.
- Coach developing technicians and, when assigned, act as project manager.
- Advance your skills via OJT and self‑study; always work safely and correct hazards when you see them.
What you’ll need
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Associate’s degree (technical) plus 7+ years related industry experience; or 10+ years relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency with predictive technologies, precision alignments, and CNC/process equipment maintenance.
- Fluency in electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; able to analyze, synthesize solutions, and repair.
- Comfort with hand/specialized tools; ability to travel as required.
- Six Sigma background a plus.
Environment & physical requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and hands‑on work; climbing ladders/lifts and balancing at height.
- Regular stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in confined spaces; occasional sitting.
- Lift/move 50+ lbs occasionally; frequent need for close and color vision.
- Occasional outdoor exposure and risk of electrical shock.
- Loud factory setting; potential exposure to hazardous materials and greasy/slippery floors.
