Step into a day on our turning floor
It’s 7:00 a.m. in Grand Rapids. You review a small-batch work order, load the next job on the CNC lathe, and dial in your first setup. Throughout the day, you’ll move between part numbers—executing multiple setups, swapping tools, adjusting offsets, and calling up the correct program for each run. Between operations, you verify dimensions with gauges, calipers, and micrometers to keep every part in spec. By 3:30 p.m., you’ve wrapped up a productive first-shift day—no weekends required.
What you’ll do
- Operate a CNC lathe for small-batch production in a job shop environment
- Perform multiple setups per shift to support quick-turn work
- Handle tool changes and adjust offsets to maintain accuracy
- Load and change programs to match each job’s requirements
- Verify quality using gauges, calipers, and micrometers
What you bring
- 2+ years of CNC lathe machining experience
- Proven experience with tool changes and offsets
- Flexibility to assist in other areas as needed
Schedule and pay
- Location: Grand Rapids
- Shift: 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (no weekends)
- Pay: $21–$25 per hour, based on experience
