A day in this role (2nd shift)

As the Precision Fabrication Team Supervisor, you open second shift with a quick huddle: review prints and work orders, assign operators, and align priorities to the schedule. You spot‑check parts for visual and dimensional accuracy, coach an operator on blueprint interpretation, and verify gauges are used correctly. Mid‑shift, you coordinate maintenance on a press brake, escalate an equipment issue, and ensure the cell stays clean and safe. You wrap up by confirming production targets, documenting any variances, and planning cross‑training for tomorrow.

Core responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, work orders, operation sheets, part numbers, and related documentation to determine correct operations and quality expectations.
• Coordinate production to meet schedule commitments; uphold safety, quality, and equipment care policies at all times.
• Oversee routine machine care; promptly report malfunctions and drive follow‑up actions; maintain orderly, clean, and safe work areas.
• Perform periodic in‑process inspections to ensure both visual and dimensional conformance; utilize calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and squares.
• Partner closely with the area supervisor to build teamwork, confirm product accuracy, and ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Provide day‑to‑day guidance, training, and cross‑training; plan, assign, and direct work related to operating requirements, safety, and quality.
• Assist as needed with interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, recognition, coaching/discipline, complaint handling, and issue resolution.

What you bring

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of fabrication experience.
• Preferred: college degree and prior leadership/supervisory experience.

Your toolkit

• Proficient in GD&T, blueprint reading, and frontline supervisory practices.
• Hands‑on with: CNC Laser Cutter, CNC Waterjet, Punch Press, Press Brake, CNC Plasma Cutter.
