If you have a sharp eye for detail, steady hands, and take pride in catching what others might miss, this role puts you at the heart of our quality promise.

Where You'll Make an Impact

You'll work across multiple critical areas, including:

  • Heavy Machining

  • Fabrication

  • Coordinate Measuring Equipment (CME)

  • Simple ultrasonic inspection equipment

  • Material handling equipment, cameras, and computers

Materials You'll Work With

No two inspections are the same. You'll handle:

  • Partially and fully finished machined parts

  • Assemblies, sub-assemblies, and castings

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

Reading & Interpretation

  • Read and interpret work orders, assembly and detail drawings, quality plans, special instructions, inspection specs, process and material specifications, standard procedure instructions, bills of material, purchase orders, shipping papers, and other documents as required

Inspection & Testing

  • Obtain and use necessary tooling, gaging, fixtures, and inspection equipment

  • Set up inspection routines for raw materials, parts, and assemblies

  • Perform first-piece, 100%, final-piece, sub-assembly, and finished assembly inspections

  • Patrol operations following established sampling plans

  • Check and record alignment and clearances of sub-assemblies and assemblies

  • Conduct leak testing

  • Perform non-certified nondestructive examination (NDE) including dye penetrant and magnetic particle inspection as directed

Documentation & Quality Control

  • Maintain records manually or electronically

  • Collect and record specific data for analytical purposes

  • Identify, describe, and sketch non-conformances (NCRs)

  • Follow procedures to control and process non-conforming items, including obtaining and defining salvage procedures

  • Document and report any irregularities or problems not covered by standard procedures, specs, or instructions

Customer & Team Collaboration

  • Work directly with customer representatives while witnessing inspections, tests, and documentation reviews

Hands-On Tasks

  • Disassemble, assemble, stamp, grind, and clean items as related to inspection

  • Inspect packaging, crating, and loading of outgoing materials

  • Operate crane, forklift truck, and other material handling equipment as required

Safety & Housekeeping

  • Maintain good housekeeping—keep tools, materials, and equipment clean, protected, and in proper place

  • Keep your work area clean

  • Observe all plant and safety rules

  • May be required to wear a portable communication device

A Note on This Role

The above reflects the general details needed to describe the principal functions of this job. It's not an exhaustive list—because inspection work requires adaptability, and every part can bring something new.
