Description

Engineering Leadership & Team Development

  • Direct and develop engineering, estimating, quality, programming, and related technical personnel.
  • Establish performance objectives, accountability standards, and professional development plans.
  • Foster a culture centered on teamwork, innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary connector between engineering, production, and customer stakeholders.
  • Align departmental initiatives with broader company goals and growth strategies.
Manufacturing Engineering & Technical Support
  • Provide technical leadership for CNC machining operations, tooling strategies, fixtures, automation solutions, and process optimization.
  • Lead the development and standardization of manufacturing practices and engineering procedures.
  • Conduct manufacturability assessments and support production planning activities.
  • Resolve complex manufacturing, process, and quality challenges.
  • Drive initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, productivity improvement, and waste elimination.
  • Ensure production documentation, routing structures, work instructions, and engineering records remain current and accurate.
  • Lead investigations and corrective actions related to process failures and production concerns.
Quoting, Costing & Business Performance
  • Oversee preparation of manufacturing estimates and customer quotations.
  • Evaluate drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to determine production feasibility and cost drivers.
  • Develop comprehensive cost models covering labor, materials, tooling, outside services, and overhead.
  • Monitor quote accuracy and operational performance to improve margins and forecasting reliability.
  • Partner with commercial and operations teams on new business pursuits and technical reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quote success rates and overall profitability.
Quality Systems & Regulatory Compliance
  • Provide leadership for the Quality organization and quality management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements, customer specifications, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Oversee document control, traceability, configuration management, and audit readiness activities.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Promote company-wide ownership of quality and compliance objectives.
  • Support certification maintenance and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Strategic & Operational Management
  • Participate actively in senior leadership planning and decision-making.
  • Support investment planning, capacity expansion efforts, and technology implementation projects.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resource planning activities.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to engineering effectiveness, quality outcomes, quoting performance, and productivity.
  • Lead initiatives that enhance operational performance and support long-term organizational growth.
Customer & Supplier Collaboration
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers throughout project development and production.
  • Participate in customer meetings, audits, technical reviews, and product launch activities.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and external partners to improve quality, delivery, and overall performance.
  • Support technical presentations and customer-facing engineering discussions.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Lead engineering activities associated with new product launches and production transfers.
  • Support PPAP, FAI, validation, qualification, and customer-specific approval requirements.
  • Ensure successful introduction of new components into production environments.
  • Work closely with customers to review manufacturability, tolerances, and production readiness.

Profile

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing engineering, quality, estimating, or other technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, fixturing, GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and manufacturing methodologies.
  • Experience with cost estimating, manufacturing planning, and production analysis.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting Swiss-style machining operations.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, medical device, semiconductor, or other high-precision manufacturing sectors.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP platforms and CAD/CAM software.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or comparable quality management systems.
