Picture your day starting at a ProtoTRAK VMC, dialing in a setup you programmed yourself. Before lunch, you pivot to a manual lathe to true up a repair part. By afternoon, you’re back at a CNC lathe, refining speeds and feeds to hit a tight tolerance—wrapping up with a clean, organized workstation and a few minutes of routine shop upkeep. What You’ll Handle
- Program, set up, and run CNC ProtoTRAK lathes and mills to produce precision components
- Set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines with confidence
- Re-machine parts for repair and refurbishment to extend service life
- Perform secondary operations: saw cutting, surface grinding, sanding, and deburring
- Keep your bench and shared spaces orderly and safe throughout the day
- Support routine shop maintenance to keep equipment in peak condition
What You Bring
- Hands-on experience programming and operating CNC lathes and mills
- Proficiency on manual machines for one-off work and quick turnarounds
- Wire EDM exposure is a plus
- Familiarity with FeatureCam software is a plus
- Strong command of materials (ferrous, non‑ferrous, and plastics), cutting tools, and the right speeds and feeds for each job
- Ability to read and apply blueprints and shop drawings accurately
- Ownership of core machinist hand tools
- Meticulous attention to detail, with a bias for accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or collaboratively as needed
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- A positive mindset and strong problem‑solving instincts
