A Day in This Role
As a Machinist 2-1 on our team, you’ll move seamlessly between machining and general shop duties—setting up equipment, producing components, and ensuring every part meets exacting standards. You’ll make real-time decisions on quality, keep production flowing, and document your work so the next operation has everything it needs.
Schedule and Premiums
- PA - 2nd shift (8) hour day: 3:20pm - 11:50pm
- 2nd shift (10) hour day: 3:20pm - 1:50am
This position includes a 15% premium for 2nd shift employees plus a retention bonus for 2nd shift new hires.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Respond to out-of-control conditions as defined in the LECO Quality Management Plan.
- Proactively take steps to prevent product non-conformity.
- Initiate, recommend, and drive solutions through designated channels.
- Identify and document product quality issues.
- Verify that corrective actions have been implemented effectively.
- Stop processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming items until deficiencies are corrected.
- Inspect the parts you manufacture and complete the related data entry.
Qualifications
People in the Machinist 2-1 job classification must be able to read engineering drawings, routers, and use precision measuring tools. You should already own—or be willing to purchase—the tools of the trade.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience preferred
