A Day in the Role

At our Melrose Park facility, your day starts with a safety huddle and job review. Depending on your path, you’ll either refine precision components to tight finishing criteria or keep fabrication work flowing by preparing, staging, and moving materials. You’ll read blueprints and work instructions, set up your tools, and deliver workmanship that meets exacting standards for turbines and industrial parts used across power generation and process industries.

Choose Your Path

Opening 1: Polishing and Deburring Operator

Experience: 5+ years | Pay: $22.00–$26.00 per hour (higher rate may be considered based on experience and qualifications)

What you’ll do

• Interpret blueprints, finishing specifications, work instructions, and quality requirements.
• Polish, deburr, blend, and finish precision metal components to prescribed criteria.
• Eliminate burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, and surface defects without changing critical dimensions.
• Operate hand tools, grinders, polishers, abrasive media, and other finishing equipment safely.
• Conduct visual and dimensional checks to confirm workmanship meets standards.
• Lift, position, and handle parts of approximately 10–15 pounds safely.
• Identify and escalate issues with damaged or nonconforming parts.
• Care for tools and equipment; keep your area organized and clean.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and operating procedures.

What you bring

• Five or more years in polishing, deburring, or precision finishing within manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand finishing requirements.
• Hands-on proficiency with manual and powered grinding, polishing, and deburring tools.
• Meticulous attention to detail with a strong safety and quality mindset.
• Turbine blade polishing experience preferred.

Opening 2: General Labor – Fabrication

Experience: 3–5 years | Pay: $23.00–$25.00 per hour (higher rate may be considered based on experience and qualifications)

What you’ll do

• Support fabrication work by preparing, moving, cleaning, grinding, and finishing materials and parts.
• Read and apply blueprints and work instructions to daily tasks.
• Use manual tools, hand-grinders, and other shop equipment safely.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts when trained and authorized.
• Stage materials, tools, and components for upcoming jobs.
• Deburr, grind, clean, and inspect parts to specification.
• Assist skilled trades and teammates on shop projects.
• Maintain equipment and housekeeping standards.
• Follow company safety, quality, and operating procedures.

What you bring

• Three to five years of manual labor experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial shop setting.
• Experience with manual tools and hand-grinding equipment.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions.
• Grit-blasting experience preferred.
• Reliable, safety-focused, and quality-driven work habits.
