Precision Mold Toolmaker — Injection Plastics

A day in this role

You open the tool room, pull up the latest drawings, and plan your approach. Before first shift starts, a production mold is on your bench for a quick teardown and cleaning. Later, you’ll repair a critical insert, verify clearances, and reassemble the tool so the molding floor can keep running. Throughout the day, you’ll collaborate with the Tooling Manager, keep your area spotless, and log quality improvements that push our tooling performance forward.

What you’ll handle

• Read and interpret tool drawings, blueprints, and sketches to plan work and verify dimensions.
• Disassemble, clean, repair, and assemble molds, fixtures, and machine tools to production-ready condition.
• Safely and effectively operate all tool room equipment to complete assigned work.
• Execute tooling-related tasks as directed by the Tooling Manager.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and care for equipment.
• Complete all required quality training provided by the company.
• Submit quality improvement ideas and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to reducing mold maintenance downtime by 3% compared to the previous baseline while improving tooling performance.
