Core accountabilities
Set up and operate OD and ID cylindrical grinders (Landis, Studer, Tschudin, Cincinnati, etc.) to precise specifications.
Select wheels and plan dressing based on materials and finish/tolerance targets.
Grind tool steels and heat-treated alloys to blueprint and GD&T requirements.
Conduct in-process inspection with micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges; document results to uphold strict quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot to sustain machine capability.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Capabilities required
3+ years of OD/ID grinder setup and operation experience.
Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances and deliver specified surface finishes.
Strong command of conventional grinding methods, wheel selection, and dressing.
Expert blueprint reading with GD&T proficiency.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school is advantageous.
