Precision Steel Pipe Fabrication Technician

A day on our fabrication floor

When you step onto the floor, you’ll join a fast-moving team that turns raw steel pipe into precise, ready-to-ship components. You’ll set up and operate fabrication equipment, prep materials to exact measurements, support welding stations and robotic cells, and keep products flowing safely and efficiently through each stage of production.

What you’ll do

• Run fabrication and production machines such as plasma cutters, cold saws, groovers, threaders, grinders, and semi-automatic fabrication equipment.
• Prepare steel pipe: cut, groove, thread, grind, and finish to meet customer specifications and production requirements.
• Support welding and automated processes, including outlet placement and welding support activities.
• Read and interpret work orders, production paperwork, specs, and tape-measure readings to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect materials, welds, and finished goods for defects, dimensional accuracy, and quality compliance.
• Perform grinding, deburring, cleanup, and general fabrication support tasks.
• Move materials throughout the facility—load, unload, stage, and organize steel pipe and fittings using forklifts, pallet jacks, CombiLift equipment, and overhead cranes.
• Bundle, band, label, and prepare finished products for shipment.
• Troubleshoot minor production or machine issues and promptly communicate equipment or quality concerns to leadership.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and uphold all safety expectations, including PPE, lockout/tagout, and SOPs.
• Cross-train and assist wherever needed across fabrication, production, machine operation, welding, robotics, or shipping based on operational priorities.

Training and growth

You don’t need prior fabrication experience to succeed here. We provide structured, hands-on training on fabrication equipment, welding support, robotics, production processes, quality standards, and safety procedures. Bring your drive to learn—we’ll help you build the skills.

What you bring

• Background in manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, machine operation, construction, mechanical trades, or general labor preferred.
• Steel fabrication, welding, robotics, or industrial production experience is a plus (not required).
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and production machinery.
• Comfort reading a tape measure and performing basic math.
• Ability to follow work instructions, production schedules, blueprints, or fabrication specifications.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, workflows, and priorities.
• Forklift or material handling experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn new processes, welding support functions, robotics, and machine operation through hands-on training.

Physical demands and environment

• Stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Frequently lift, move, and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
• Work safely around moving machinery, forklifts, cranes, sparks, welding operations, and fabrication equipment.
• Comfort working in an industrial environment with noise, dust, heat, sparks, fumes, and other production conditions.
