A stainless assembly calls for tight-tolerance fits, clean TIG beads, and careful inspection. By mid-morning, you’re teaming with engineers to tweak a prototype for manufacturability. After lunch, you switch to MIG on carbon steel square tubing, knock out a few basic milling ops, and verify dimensions before the part moves forward. Pay: $30.00–$40.00 per hour
What You’ll Build and Do
Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel, including piping and square tubing.
Fabricate precision components and assemblies from engineering drawings while holding tight tolerances.
Operate fabrication equipment—bandsaws and general shop machinery—and complete basic milling operations.
Read and apply engineering drawings, weld symbols, GD&T, and bills of material.
Inspect finished work to verify quality and dimensional accuracy.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to support product development and improve manufacturability.
Keep the workspace clean, organized, and safe; champion continuous improvement.
Adapt quickly to evolving prototype designs.
What You Bring
Proven MIG and TIG welding experience on carbon and stainless.
Background building precision parts from drawings.
Hands-on knowledge of shop equipment—bandsaws and basic milling machines.
Comfort using measuring tools: calipers, squares, tape measures.
Meticulous attention to detail and a pride in quality workmanship.
Clear communicator and dependable team collaborator.
Self-driven with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
Preferred
AWS or equivalent welding certifications.
Experience in prototype, R&D, or new product development.
Ability to review CAD files or perform basic CAM programming.
Sheet metal fabrication or related manufacturing experience.
