Kovach Enclosure Systems is looking for a driven, curious, and persistent Preconstruction Inside Sales Development Representative to help identify new construction opportunities and connect prospective customers with our Preconstruction team.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys research, prospecting, talking with new people, and turning a cold lead into a meaningful business conversation. You don’t need to be a construction expert on day one. We’ll help you learn our business, our markets, and the building-envelope industry.
What you do need is the confidence to pick up the phone, the persistence to follow up, and the judgment to recognize when you’ve uncovered an opportunity worth pursuing.
Kovach is more than a place to work. We are an employee-owned company through our ESOP, which means our employees have the opportunity to share in the long-term success they help create.
We have also been continually recognized as a Great Place to Work, reflecting our commitment to building a workplace where employees can grow, contribute, and succeed.
Our benefits include a highly competitive retirement program, including a 401(k) match of 125% of the first 6% you contribute, along with the added long-term wealth-building opportunity of employee ownership through our ESOP.
When Kovach succeeds, our employee-owners share in that success.
You’ll be on the front end of our business development process, identifying projects and organizations that could be a strong fit for Kovach and opening the door for our Preconstruction team.
You will:
Research upcoming construction projects, general contractors, architects, owners, developers, construction managers, and key decision-makers.
Build and maintain targeted prospect lists based on markets, geography, project type, timing, and strategic priorities.
Conduct outbound outreach by phone, email, and other approved channels to introduce Kovach and generate interest.
Navigate organizations to identify the right contacts and decision-makers.
Ask smart discovery questions to understand the project, timing, needs, and potential fit.
Consistently follow up with prospects until a meeting is scheduled, the opportunity is disqualified, or continued outreach no longer makes sense.
Qualify potential opportunities and provide our Preconstruction Managers with the information they need for a productive first conversation.
Schedule and coordinate introductions between qualified prospects and the appropriate Preconstruction Manager.
Maintain accurate prospecting, activity, follow-up, and opportunity information in Salesforce.
Share market intelligence, customer feedback, recurring objections, competitor information, and trends you discover through your outreach.
This role is focused on prospecting, qualification, and appointment setting. You will not be responsible for estimating projects, developing pricing, negotiating contracts, or closing construction work.
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable hearing “no” without losing momentum.
You’ll likely thrive here if you:
Enjoy initiating conversations with people you haven’t met before.
Are persistent without being pushy.
Can stay motivated through unanswered calls, unsuccessful outreach, and rejection.
Are naturally curious and good at researching companies, projects, and people.
Know how to ask concise questions and listen closely to the answers.
Are organized enough to manage a high volume of contacts and follow-up activity without letting opportunities fall through the cracks.
Communicate professionally by phone, email, video, and in person.
Take coaching well and adjust your approach based on feedback and results.
Enjoy working toward measurable activity and outcome goals.
Like being part of a team where your work creates opportunities for others to succeed.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in inside sales, sales development, business development, lead generation, appointment setting, customer service, recruiting, or another role involving frequent outbound communication is preferred.
Strong sales aptitude may substitute for direct sales experience.
B2B experience is preferred.
Experience with Salesforce or another CRM is a plus.
Experience in construction, architecture, engineering, manufacturing, building products, specialty contracting, or another technical or project-based industry is helpful, but not required.
Ability and willingness to learn Kovach’s services, customers, target markets, project types, and basic construction and building-envelope terminology.
Kovach Enclosure Systems is a specialty contractor delivering innovative building-envelope solutions for complex construction projects. Our success is built on strong relationships, exceptional people, technical expertise, and a commitment to doing great work.
As an ESOP company, our employees aren’t simply working for Kovach. They are helping build a company they have an ownership stake in.
If you’re energized by finding opportunities, starting conversations, and turning research and persistence into real business relationships, we’d like to hear from you.
Come build your career, and your ownership, with Kovach.
