Description

My client is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead estimating, budgeting, and client-facing preconstruction efforts for a growing commercial construction organization in the Raleigh market. This is a strategic role for a professional who excels at building client relationships, presenting solutions, and helping secure new business opportunities.

With decades of successful project delivery, repeat clients, and a diverse portfolio across multiple market sectors, they have established themselves as a premier construction organization known for quality and integrity.

Description

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Analyze project documents, such as blueprints and specifications, to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and teams to develop accurate and competitive proposals.
  • Maintain updated cost databases and pricing information for accurate forecasting.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure alignment with project needs and budgets.
  • Provide input and recommendations to enhance project profitability and efficiency.
  • Track and report project costs to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings to discuss project details and address any concerns.

Profile

  • 5-10 years of preconstruction experience within commercial construction
  • Strong estimating and budgeting experience on large-scale construction projects
  • Demonstrated success working directly with clients and helping win business
  • Confident presentation and communication skills with the ability to lead client discussions
  • Experience collaborating with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors
  • Knowledge of conceptual estimating, value engineering, and construction planning
  • Ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred

Job Offer

  • Base Salary: Up to $150,000
  • Discretionary Bonus: Typically around 10%
