Our client, a well-established multifamily developer and general contractor with a strong presence in the Atlanta market, is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join their growing team. Position Summary
The Preconstruction Manager will support the preconstruction process for ground-up multifamily and mixed-use developments, working closely with project executives, design teams, and trade partners to develop accurate budgets, schedules, and constructability assessments from early conceptual stages through GMP.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimates throughout project design phases
Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
Assist in developing project budgets, GMPs, and value engineering options
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and internal project teams during design development
Track market pricing trends and maintain historical cost data
Support constructability reviews and identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities
Help prepare bid packages, scopes of work, and preconstruction schedules
Participate in owner and design team meetings as needed
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in preconstruction or estimating at a commercial or multifamily general contractor
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
Working knowledge of estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar)
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and cost drivers
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $90,000–$130,000, commensurate with experience
