Description

  • Responsible for managing multiple individual projects from concept through the bidding, design and subcontract bidding phases of these projects
  • Consult with project manager and superintendent concerning schedule and special construction considerations.
  • Prepare conceptual estimates from limited information
  • Initiate and participate on the "Winning Team" as the preconstruction leader responsible for providing all requirements of preconstruction including narratives, GCs development and pricing, budgeting, numeric data, etc.
  • Participate as preconstruction lead during presentations and interview.
  • Typically the main point of contact with the customer and design team until the project enters the construction phase.
  • Will attend all design meetings for understanding and preconstruction support to maintain budget.
  • Perform or manage all estimate requirements including budget development, some quantity take-off, scope development, subcontractor solicitations and communications, qualifications, value options, etc.
  • Responsible for complete and accurate budget updates at all phases of preconstruction including schematic design, design development, and CDs.
  • Mentor and train other team members.
  • Participate in overall improvement of department processes

Profile

  • Ideal candidate has 8-10 years of experience in construction
  • 2-3 years preconstruction experience
  • Prior estimating experience
  • Management experience
  • Computer Software experience: Bluebeam, Smartbid, Viewport, and Timberline
  • Project experience including: K-12, Higher-ed, Multifamily, Mission Critical, office
