You come from a Mechanical Contracting background specializing in commercial, industrial, multifamily, institutional, and hospitality projects and understand the pace, coordination, and attention to detail these projects require.
You may currently work in estimating, project engineering, project management, or preconstruction and are looking for a role where you can do more than just sit behind a desk pricing work all day.
You enjoy client interaction, supporting presentations, coordinating with subcontractors and vendors, helping review estimates, and working closely with leadership and operations teams to position projects for success before they move into the field.
You are comfortable managing multiple moving parts while staying professional, proactive, and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced construction environment.
YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Supporting the Executives and Senior Estimator throughout the preconstruction and estimating process
Assisting in reviewing and preparing estimates, budgets, proposals, and bid packages
Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors for pricing, scope review, and procurement support
Attending client meetings, presentations, design meetings, and preconstruction discussions
Assisting with conceptual budgeting, hard bids, negotiated proposals, and value engineering efforts
Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements for completeness and constructability
Coordinating with Project Managers to ensure smooth transition from preconstruction to operations
Maintaining relationships with General Contractors, corporate clients, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and vendors
Tracking bid schedules, deadlines, follow-up communication, and project documentation
Supporting business development efforts through professionalism, responsiveness, and relationship management
Managing existing relationships with contractors while developing new relationships over time
Assisting in value engineering and estimating efforts to help secure profitable work
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
Must come from a Mechanical Contracting firm specializing in commercial, industrial, multifamily, institutional, and hospitality projects
Experience with preconstruction, estimating, budgeting, and project coordination processes
Experience communicating with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
Strong organizational and follow-through skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications preferred
Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical construction
ABOUT THE COMPANY:
A Mechanical Contracting firm that performs work both as a subcontractor to General Contractors and directly as a Prime Contractor for corporate clients. This role works directly with the President, Senior Estimator, Project Managers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the preconstruction process.
COMPENSATION:
Salary Range: based on experience
Annual performance review with incentives based on growth and contribution
