Minneapolis, MN | Direct Hire | $120,000–$140,000
Konik is partnering with an innovative cleantech construction and engineering company seeking to add a Preconstruction Manager to its growing team. This organization develops and implements large-scale mechanical and infrastructure solutions supporting commercial, industrial, and multi-family facilities across the U.S.
This is a highly collaborative, project-focused role centered around setting projects up for success during the early phases of development. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a construction, civil, underground utilities, mechanical, or heavy infrastructure background who enjoys solving problems early in the project lifecycle rather than managing field execution long term.

- Review project plans, specifications, and construction documents using Bluebeam and related tools
- Support conceptual estimating, budgeting, subcontractor scoping, and bid analysis efforts
- Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing across multiple project scopes including civil, mechanical, controls, utilities, and site work
- Develop project schedules and support early-stage construction planning activities
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and operations teams to align technical requirements and project execution strategies
- Identify constructability concerns, project risks, procurement challenges, and scheduling conflicts early in project development
- Support permit coordination, regulatory compliance, and project documentation efforts
- Maintain and improve internal estimating tools, tracking systems, and preconstruction workflows utilizing Excel and related software platforms
- Serve as a key communication point between internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders
Preconstruction Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, project engineering, project coordination, or construction management
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and project planning
- Experience with Bluebeam, Excel-based estimating tools, and construction document review
- Background in civil construction, underground utilities, earthwork, infrastructure, mechanical systems, or related construction environments strongly preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, sales, and operations teams
- Self-starter mentality with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $120,000–$140,000 depending on experience
- Comprehensive health and insurance benefits
- PTO and paid holidays
- Professional development and advancement opportunities
- Collaborative, growth-oriented culture focused on innovation and technical problem solving
