Job Summary and QualificationsAs the Float Pool PreOp/PACU Nurse, you will contribute to the company's mission and vision by utilizing the nursing process in planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively and postoperatively until your patient is dismissed from the facility.What you will do in this role:You will rotate to other ambulatory surgery center facilitiesPrepare patient care area adequately before case and ensure availability of necessary equipment and suppliesInitiate intravenous therapy as prescribed, utilizing aseptic technique utilizing appropriate IV start kit, catheter and fluidEnsure that medication is labeled appropriatelyAdminister pre-operative medications as prescribed and utilize safety medication practicesMonitor your patient until he/she is transferred to the ORRecognize signs and symptoms of your patient's condition that indicate potential post procedure or anesthesia related complications and report to the anesthesiologist immediatelyMonitor and maintain proper intravenous intake and outputDocument patient assessment upon admissionCheck dressings and/or operative site and report abnormalities to the surgeonAssure that patient meets all discharge criteriaQualifications you will need:Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery Active RN license as required by state of employment BCLS Certification upon employment. *online certification not acceptable ACLS required within 30-days of hire PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire Benefits Surgery Ventures, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
