      Job Description

      Nestled amongst three mountain peaks in the Blue Mountains, Peaks of Otter Lodge offers a tranquil spot on Abbott Lake for guests to enjoy breathtaking views. Located in Bedford, Virginia the Lodge provides a variety of ways to experience the scenic beauty and heritage of the southern Appalachian region. Guests can enjoy delicious food and drinks during their stay at the Lodge. We also offer retail gift shops throughout the area.
       
      Kick off the season with us—reopening mid-April!
       
      Position Responsibilities:
      • Prepare food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience for customers
      • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
      • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
      • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
      • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
      • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils
      • Execute opening and closing procedures
      • Complete all required food and safety logs 
       
      Position Requirements:
      • Knowledge of food preparation and storage, sanitation requirements and commercial kitchen equipment
      • Strong communication skills 
      • Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment and in close proximity to other people
      • Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Frequent bending, twisting, lifting and squatting will be required

      Knowledge and Experience:
      • Experience: Restaurant experience preferred
