THE ROLE

As a Catering Prep Cook, you'll help prepare all of our dishes from scratch while supporting our Catering team in delivering exceptional food quality and consistency. Working alongside our Catering General Manager, Catering Sous Chef, and kitchen leadership, you'll prepare ingredients, organize production, and ensure every item meets Tatte's standards for craftsmanship, food safety, and hospitality.

Successful Prep Cooks are dependable team players who enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen, take pride in quality, and are passionate about learning and growing their culinary skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow daily prep lists created by the Catering General Manager, Catering Sous Chef, and Supervisors
  • Prepare, wash, chop, sort, and portion ingredients including vegetables, fruits, meats, and other products
  • Measure ingredients accurately while following recipes and production standards
  • Label, organize, and stock ingredients using proper food safety procedures
  • Maintain inventory and communicate product needs to kitchen leadership
  • Learn and execute Tatte cooking techniques and preparation methods
  • Monitor food quality, storage, and cooling temperatures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment
  • Assist chefs with food preparation and additional kitchen responsibilities as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for 8+ hours per shift
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Passion for cooking and preparing food from scratch
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and cleanliness
  • Desire to learn and contribute as part of a collaborative team

Preferred

  • At least 1 year of experience working in a fast-paced kitchen, catering kitchen, restaurant, or food production environment
  • Experience with food preparation, knife skills, and kitchen safety procedures
