Mini Kabob is seeking reliable, hardworking Prep Cook / Dishwasher team members to join our kitchen.
We are a family-owned Armenian restaurant established in 1987 and recognized by the LA Times Top 101, New York Times Top 50, and Michelin Guide. We are known for open-fire grilled meats, scratch-made recipes, high-quality ingredients, and operating at an extremely high level inside a small, fast-moving kitchen.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in supporting the team, staying organized, working efficiently, and helping maintain a clean and productive kitchen environment.
The right candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast-paced kitchen where consistency and teamwork matter.
Responsibilities
Prepare vegetables, proteins, sauces, marinades, and other ingredients according to company standards
Assist with daily kitchen prep and station setup
Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment efficiently throughout the shift
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
Support line cooks and kitchen team members as needed
Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures
Assist with opening and closing responsibilities
Help keep prep, dish, and storage areas organized and stocked
Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
Qualifications
Previous prep cook, dishwasher, kitchen helper, or restaurant experience preferred
Strong work ethic and reliability
Ability to work independently and stay productive throughout the shift
Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
Ability to lift, carry, and move kitchen supplies as needed
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Reliable, punctual, and consistent
Position Details
Schedule Option #1
Thursday–Sunday
Approximately 6:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Supports prep and cleaning during high-volume service days
Schedule Option #2
Monday–Wednesday
Approximately 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Supports prep production and kitchen maintenance
Additional shifts may be available during high-volume periods

Compensation
Base wage: $16.50/hr
Guaranteed total earnings: approximately $18–21/hr with tip makeup
