At True Food Kitchen we pride ourselves on serving great food! This means that we rely on our prep cooks to consistently and efficiently prepare and portion our food products, beautifully plate and garnishes dishes, and ensure that our food is ready to be served to our guests consistently and efficiently. It is the prep cook's responsibility to accurately and efficiently prepare and portion food products prior to service. The prep cook will also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items as necessary. Many items on our menu are seasonal which gives our prep cooks a variety of recipes to prepare as we rotate throughout the year.What you can look forward to!We have a successful and professional work environment with opportunities for growth and a development program to get you to that next position in your career.AM/PM and Mid-day shifts available.Part time to 40 hours available per person.Part time team members are offered access to affordable, quality health care through Hooray Health and telehealth options.Pet Insurance for your fur babies.Access to expert guidance through EAP/SupportLinc which offers to help you and your family address and resolve everyday issues.Restaurant Dining Discount.Paid volunteer time to support your community and favorite charities.Eligible to give to and receive from the True Giving fund that supports life changing events.We look for people who:Experience in kitchen preparation would be beneficialPreferably have at least 6 months experience in a similar capacity in a high-volume restaurantExhibit exceptional knife skillsAre able to work efficiently in a high volume, fast paced environmentRead and execute a recipeThe flexibility and availability to work nights, holidays and/or weekends should be doableA love of making great food!What you will be doing:Prepare menu ingredients following a recipe to produce consistent resultsComplete prep list, maintain station throughout shift, follow all specifications, and stock items as neededRinse and cuts raw food productsPortion products and follow recipes to ensure plate presentation looks greatStock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service periodPrepare items for broiling, grilling, sautéing or other cooking methods based off recipe requirementsFollow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishesHandle, store, and rotate all products properlyFollows sanitization standards, ensuring work station stays clean and organized, and follows all food handling standards.Who we areAt True Food Kitchen, we believe in the power of whole, real food.
