Prep Cook

Our prep cook hours are 10:00 am-6:30 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and every other weekend. We pay $18/hour.

Monarch Landing is recruiting for a hospitality-focused Prep Cook to join our team! This position is responsible for full-scope, hands-on production cooking in the Community Culinary Services Department. Is responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sets up station according to daily production needs.
• Prepares the ingredients for meals including chopping fruits and vegetables, preparing meats, and measuring items.
• Assists in preparing food products as scheduled in the cycle menu to include breakfast, lunch, and dinner service and any catering or other special functions
• Follows proper handling, preparation, and holding guidelines, takes temperatures at regular intervals, and maintains foods in sufficient quantities while minimizing over-production and waste.
• Follows kitchen sanitation and equipment cleaning schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of six (6) months of high-volume food prep experience in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution is required.
• Certificate in food service sanitation (ServSafe or equivalent) required within 90 days of hire date.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Skill in proper knife handling techniques.
• Flu Vaccination required
