Position Summary
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting with food preparation to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently. This position plays a vital role in maintaining food quality, cleanliness, and organization while supporting the kitchen team in delivering exceptional meals to guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, peeling, and measuring according to recipes and kitchen standards.
- Label, date, and properly store food items following food safety guidelines.
- Assist line cooks with food preparation before and during service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary prep station throughout each shift.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including slicers, mixers, food processors, and knives.
- Restock ingredients and supplies as needed.
- Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies are running low.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
- Comply with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Support the kitchen team with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
