Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The Prep Cook plays a key role in ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly by completing essential food preparation tasks before service. This position supports chefs and line cooks by preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean workspace, and helping ensure food quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion fruits, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients.
- Prepare sauces, dressings, stocks, and other basic recipes according to kitchen standards.
- Measure and organize ingredients for daily service.
- Label, date, and store food items properly in accordance with food safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized prep station.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Ensure all food prep follows health and safety regulations.
- Support line cooks and chefs with additional tasks during busy service periods.
- Dispose of kitchen waste and keep prep areas stocked with necessary supplies.
Qualifications:
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
