Providence Place at Ingleside is an exceptional 55-plus active adult independent living community and retirement community located on a scenic hilltop in Holyoke, Massachusetts. We work diligently to enhance the senior independent living experience and offer a variety of programs for our residents to maintain an active lifestyle.

Compensation: $17.48 - $21.03 per hour, depending on verification of experience and qualifications.

Position Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the preparation of food in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures. The Prep Cook supports safe, sanitary, and efficient food service operations while upholding Trinity Health's Mission, Vision, Values, and Guiding Behaviors.

What You Will Do

  • Assist the cook with meal preparation following standardized recipes, portion control, and therapeutic diet requirements.

  • Prepare and serve food that is palatable and appetizing, making only authorized substitutions.

  • Follow all dietary, sanitation, and safety policies and procedures.

  • Assist with food preparation for special meals and events.

  • Ensure food and supplies are prepared and available for upcoming meals.

  • Assist with inventorying, storing, and monitoring food and supplies.

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of dietary service areas and equipment.

  • Work collaboratively with other departments to meet resident needs.

  • Attend required training, in-services, and educational programs.

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service to residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • On-the-job training provided.

  • Six (6) months experience as a dietary aide or in institutional food service preferred.

  • Cooking experience desired.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.

  • Previous experience in long-term care or with geriatric populations preferred.
