    Summary Description:  

    To provide all customers, both internal and external, with an exceptional experience while striving to exceed expectations. Performs dishwashing and utility tasks relating to the Dining Department in accordance with applicable regulations and departmental policies and procedures. This includes food preparation of both hot and cold food items.


    Essential Functions:

    Complies with all departmental policies and procedures (includes, but not limited to-HACCP, both regularly scheduled and mandatory in-services, adherence to all local, state and federal food and safety regulations including, CARF, DPH, EOEA, BOH, CDC and USDA Food Code guidelines). Other duties may be assigned.


    1. Performs job functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the Loomis Communities. Adheres to The Loomis Communities Compliance and Ethics Program.
    2. Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services.
    3. Provide all customers with efficient, professional and responsive service, while communicating with honesty, integrity and respect. This may include, filling the dish machine, following proper loading procedures and placement. Empties dish machine and inspects all dishware coming out for cleanliness. Places clean dishes, glasses and flatware in proper areas. Cleans dish machine inside and out, including sprayer arms, ensuring machine is clean prior to the end of shift. If necessary, de-limes the dish machine as needed. Keeps area clean and organized following the cleaning checklist. Keeps pace with the workflow volume. Follows proper pot cleaning procedures. Keeps noise to a minimum as to not disturb the dining residents. Keeps productive at all times. Assists wait staff as needed. Maintains an adequate supply of clean dishes, glasses, and flatware throughout serving times. Follows safety procedures – cleaning spills, sweeping and mopping floors of the kitchen, refrigerator/freezers, and storage areas. Follow all safety guidelines for chemical and equipment use. Responsible for organizing all storage and supply areas etc., including proper removal and disposable of trash, compostable and recycling items If needed can step in to assist in the dining room as a server. Properly completes all dish machine, pot sink and sanitizer logs as directed.  
    4. Work harmoniously and cooperatively within a team structure. Collaborating with co-workers while remaining positive and respectful at all times. This includes delivering on resident and guest functions, activities and promotions.
    5. Delivers quality services by performing some culinary tasks while adhering to established food safety requirements. Proper receiving and storage of departmental supplies.

    Preferred Experience

    • Previous customer service of at least 6 months

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English. 
    • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the public.
    • Ability to report to work regularly and promptly.
    • Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary. 
    • Ability to relate in a positive manner to all residents, including emotionally upset and residents with mild cognitive impairment.
