Job Description: The Preparation & Finishing Technician is responsible for preparing, processing, and finishing components and subassemblies in accordance with established manufacturing procedures and work instructions. This role includes surface preparation, coating, deflashing, inspection, and final processing to ensure products meet quality and customer specifications. The position supports efficient, safe, and high-quality production operations while maintaining accurate production tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare products and subassemblies for production to ensure functionality and quality compliance.
* Perform cleaning, degreasing, sandblasting, masking, and painting/coating of parts per specifications.
* Perform deflashing and finishing of molded parts in accordance with work instructions and quality standards.
* Prepare components for subassembly and final assembly processes.
* Set up, operate, and monitor preparation and finishing equipment to ensure quality and productivity targets are met.
* Monitor and adjust processes or equipment to maintain consistent output and minimize defects.
* Inspect prepared and finished products to verify conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
* Accurately record labor and production activity through barcode scanning and work order tracking systems.
* Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to ensure product compliance.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and company standards.
* Train and support team members as needed.
* Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and support functions to ensure production goals are met.
Requirements/Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
* Basic understanding of preparation, finishing, and production processes.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Basic communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to safely handle and apply chemical materials, including VOC bonding agents.
M-F 6am-2:30pm and occasional OT Sat. 6am-12pm with regular daily overtime.
Pay is starting at $19/hr -$21hr based on experience.
