    General Description of the Job

    Perform a variety of activities that ensures the physical, cognitive, social-emotional and language development of children through a healthy and safe environment.

    Specific Duties of the Job:

    Responsibilities with the classroom

    • Support the lead teacher with the plans and execute daily activities for the group.
    • Helps the lead teacher maintain the classroom furniture into clearly defined learning centers that are appropriately supplied with materials and labels
    • Helps the lead teacher maintain classroom decorated according to special events, holidays, seasons and the theme of the week, to support your teaching
    • Knows and follows the daily schedule posted in the classroom and according to the school’s program.
    • Maintains labels in all learning centers, cubbies, mats and materials using words and pictures. ? Communicates supplies or repairs needed in classroom and playground
    • Daily cleaning, sanitizing and organizing of your building while children nap and at the end of the day
    • Helps the lead teacher to set classroom and individual goals and then evaluate regularly.

    Responsibilities with Children

    • Supervises children at all times, including outside play, inside play, lunch, potty time and naptime.
    • Treats each child with dignity and respect.
    • Interacts with and stimulates each individual child through language development, gross motor development, fine motor development and socialization.
    • Uses appropriate and positive discipline techniques consistently.
    • Keeps personal cubbies and shelves clean and labeled with pictures and words ? Sends home children projects weekly ? All toys sanitized on a weekly basis.
    • Constantly review with the lead teacher the developmental stage of each child to plan activities and experiences according to his/her needs in conjunction with the lead teacher.

    Responsibilities with the school:

    • Reports to work on time, ready to face the classroom's challenges.
    • Reports and function as a team player to administrative personnel and coworkers.
    • Communicates to director or assistant any parents’ concerns, questions or complaints.
    • Gives advance notice for substitute schedule on vacation and personal days.
    • Follows the guidelines of the staff handbook.
    • Be flexible in your duties asked to perform by director.
    • Promotes school positively in the community.
    • Maintain a positive attitude and good relationship with co-workers.
    • Willing to share ideas and plans that can contribute to the improvement of the total program.
    • Participates in continuing education opportunities to improve and enlarge your knowledge.

    Responsibilities with Parents:

    • Maintain a positive kind relationship and communication with parents

    Required knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge of growth process of preschool children
    • Skills in patient
    • Skills in relaying positive reinforcement

    • Team player

    Qualifications:

    • 45 Hours (State Mandatory)
    • CDA/CDA or equivalent, or higher education
    • Willing to continue with her education.
