We're looking for a full-time Preschool Assistant Teacher who is enthusiastic, caring, and committed to helping young children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. What You'll Need to Succeed
Required:
- Must meet New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) requirements for employment in a child care program
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed child care center, preschool, or early learning environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Genuine passion for working with children
Preferred:
- Child Development Associate (CDA)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
What You'll Do
As a Preschool Assistant Teacher, you'll work alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom where children can thrive.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the implementation of age-appropriate lesson plans and learning activities
- Supporting children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Supervising children to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment
- Encouraging independence through hands-on learning and play
- Helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
- Assisting with meals, transitions, outdoor play, and daily routines
- Following all OCFS regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies
- Collaborating with teachers and center leadership to provide exceptional care

$17 - $21 an hour
