Preschool Director (Childcare Center Director)
Location: The Learning Experience – Byron Center, MI
Pay: $60,000 per year
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

The Learning Experience – Byron Center is seeking an experienced Preschool Director to lead daily operations of our licensed early childhood education center. This role is ideal for a director-qualified leader who excels in team development, compliance, enrollment growth, and creating a positive, high-quality learning environment for children and families.

Our center serves children from infancy through school age in a structured, play-based setting that supports academic readiness and social-emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily preschool and childcare center operations

  • Maintain full compliance with Michigan childcare licensing and health regulations

  • Lead, coach, and support teaching staff to ensure consistent program quality

  • Support implementation of The Learning Experience L.E.A.P. Curriculum

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, payroll support, and budget performance

  • Drive enrollment through tours, family engagement, and community outreach

  • Build strong relationships with families, staff, and the local community

  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of preschool or childcare center management experience

  • Must meet Michigan Director Qualification Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of licensing, operations, and early childhood best practices

  • Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills
