This is a full-time position that works Monday – Friday 8:30am -5:30pm. The pay is $15 -17 per hour with merit increases depending on experience and qualifications. This role is located at our center: 1118 W Oak Ridge Rd, Orlando, FL 32809

The Preschool Teacher Floater works with the lead teacher of the classroom to plan and implement curriculum based on the age groups working with such as the 2-year-old, 3-year-old, and Afternoon VPK Classrooms while also serving as a model and mentor, and coordinates engaging developmental activities for children. You’ll have the chance to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, and support children’s growth and success. 

What You’ll Do

  • Assist the lead classroom teacher to coordinate and implement educational curriculum by creating classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
  • Lead by example and encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching
  •  Work with the lead teach to plan individual and group age-appropriate exercises to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth
  •  Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
  • Ensure all Center policies and state regulations are met
  •  Represent Oak Ridge Children’s Academy with warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail.

What We Need from You:

  • High school diploma and/or degree in Early childhood education or related field of study required
  • FL DCF 45 hours Required
  • National CDA Highly Preferred

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional early childhood teaching experience
  •  Must clear a full level II DCF background check
  •  Bilingual proficiency is a plus (Spanish/English preferred)
  •  Strong knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  •  Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
