Immanuel Church is a multisite campus in Northern Kentucky located in the cities of Lakeside Park and Florence.
Teacher must be prepared to teach young children, especially in the field of early childhood education and/or child development, meeting the requirements of licensing agencies and accrediting organizations. Teacher must be warm, sensitive, and a mature individual who relates well to children and adults and continues to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate preschool program for young children. · Demonstrate Christian love to children, families, and other staff members. · Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program. · Prepare lesson plans for students according to the age, developmental maturity, and needs of the children being taught, while including fundamental vocabulary, simple shapes, basic colors, letters, and numbers into the curriculum. · Address basic interpersonal skills, such as sharing, taking turns, and asking permission in the classroom. · Collaborate with other teachers, instructors, and staff members to create an optimal learning and care environment. · Provide helpful feedback to parents and guardians on a regular or as-needed basis. · Works with diverse populations of children and adults from a wide variety of cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds. · Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained, and safe at all times. · Be familiar with emergency procedures
Supervise children in the Preschool · Ensure children are supervised at all times. · Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and storytelling. · Build children’s self-esteem. · Comfort children when needed. · Establish routines and provide positive guidance. · Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable. · Implement positive discipline when required. · Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand. · Observe children and make notes of progress.
Communicate with parents and members of the community · Conduct regular, formal and/or informal parent/teacher conferences on each child’s school adjustment, classroom behavior, and developmental progress. · Participate in community activities. · Promote literacy and early education.
Maintain program administration · Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities, and their children’s progress. · Develop and maintain current, accurate, and confidential student files. · Develop daily activity/lesson plans.
Perform other related duties as required · Maintain adherence to all preschool policies and procedures, including safety requirements. · Must work the days and hours to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks, be punctual and timely in meeting all performance requirements, including but not limited to attendance standards and work deadlines. · Keep a portfolio/file of each child’s progress, including photographs, samples of their artwork, writing, etc. · Maintain all required reports pertaining to the class and/or individual children. This includes progress reports twice annually in October and in March. · Maintain classroom communication tool to provide details to parents regarding classroom activities and events. · All other responsibilities assigned.
EXPECTATIONS · Lead Teacher preferred hours (8:30 – 2:00 p.m.) · Attend all staff meetings. · Attend all team planning/curriculum meetings scheduled by the Director. · Attend all mandatory trainings, including CPR & First Aid training every two years. · Complete 15 hours of professional development annually and implement what you have learned back into the classroom. · Update TB skin test every two years. · Complete a professional development plan with the director annually. · Complete a staff evaluation with the director annually. · Complete the 1.5 hours Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma Training in the first year of hire and every 5 years from initial hire date. · Complete 6 hours of Orientation in the first 90 days of hire. · Complete the National Background Check Program for Kentucky and any out of state background checks. · Follow and implement all center policies and procedures daily.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · High school degree required. · CDA or a degree (Associates or above) in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field (60 college credits), or 5 + years in an early childhood setting is highly recommended.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS · Lift up to 40 lbs. · Repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping · Climb up and down stairs · Have mobility required to ensure the safety of the children · Work with children on the floor · Work outdoors in any variety of weather · Fully capable to have visually or hearing capabilities consistent with licensing safety requirements · Perform light duty cleaning · Light typing and word processing · Teacher may encounter children who are ill and/or contagious and must take precautions to ensure the health and safety of all children, parents, staff and themselves. WORK ENVIRONMENT: · All work is completed in-person generally at the Lakeside Park. · Days of hours of work are generally business hours Monday through Friday.
