The Learning Experience of Middletown is looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and experienced
Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team!
We are an
early learning facility focused on providing meaningful educational experiences that prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. We believe the preschool years are an important time for children to develop the academic, social-emotional, communication, independence, and problem-solving skills that will create a strong foundation for their future education.
We are seeking an educator who is passionate about early childhood education and understands that a preschool classroom should be a place where children are encouraged to
learn, explore, ask questions, build confidence, and develop a genuine love of learning.
Qualifications
Candidates must meet
at least one of the following educational requirements:
- Preschool CDA (Child Development Associate Credential)
- Currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Education program
- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
Previous experience working in a childcare center, preschool, or early childhood classroom is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will:
- Create and maintain a warm, welcoming, organized, and engaging early learning environment
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily learning experiences designed to support kindergarten readiness and continued educational success
- Lead circle time, small-group activities, art, sensory experiences, dramatic play, early literacy and math activities, and other hands-on learning opportunities
- Introduce and reinforce foundational skills in areas such as early literacy, language development, math, science, problem-solving, and critical thinking
- Help children develop important school-readiness skills including independence, following routines, communicating needs, participating in group activities, and working cooperatively with peers
- Encourage children’s social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development
- Adapt activities and teaching strategies to meet the individual developmental and learning needs of children within the classroom
- Establish consistent classroom routines and use positive guidance techniques to support appropriate behavior
- Observe children’s development and document progress, milestones, and areas for continued growth
- Maintain active supervision and ensure the health and safety of all children throughout the school day
- Build positive, professional relationships with children and their families
- Communicate with families about their child’s day, development, accomplishments, and classroom experiences
- Work collaboratively with assistant teachers, fellow educators, and school leadership
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom
- Follow all center policies, licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and company procedures
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and ongoing training
