Support for Early Learning & Families (SELF) seeks an experienced, engaging, and dedicated Preschool Lead Teacher to join our educational community.This is a full-time (30-hours), non-exempt position reporting directly to the Superintendent of Woodland School District. This position is based in Woodland, WA. Who is SELF? SELF Mission: Support for Early Learning & Families envisions a Southwest Washington where every child thrives through equitable access to quality, affordable early care and educationpowered by a united community of families, educators, leaders, and advocates. We work in partnership with the Educational Service District (ESD) 112 to staff and facilitate numerous early learning centers in the southwest Washington area. Our programs are designed to support children at ages ranging from birth to preschool. We have programming types to support children of all backgrounds and needs. To learn more about SELF, we invite you to visit our website: www.SELFwa.org Job Title: Preschool Lead Teacher Employment Status: Full Time - School Year FLSA Status:Non-Exempt Reports to:Superintendent Supervises:N/A About the Preschool Lead Teacher Position: The Preschool Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a safe and engaging educational setting for children aged 4-5 years within a part-day preschool program.The Preschool Lead Teacher must demonstrate exemplary teaching skills, patience, and responsive care practices to create quality learning experiences, model consistent and stable relationships, while maintaining all necessary documentation within program requirements and performance standards. Teachers work within the framework of age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans, to promote the health, social emotional, and education of children within a play-based, child-led inquiry early childhood education framework. Teachers foster and encourage parental involvement in educational planning, goal setting, and center activities. The general work schedule is Monday through Friday (30 hours) business hours, with some work hour flexibility as needed. Must meet one of the following: Minimum of 20 credits in ECEShort or higher Washington State Early Childhood Education CertificateIn lieu of full educational requirements, a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience and willingness to obtain full educational requirements within 5 years from start of position. 18 years of age or older. Ability to work within a team and work effectively with other people. Ability to follow directions and follow through efficiently on assigned tasks. Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment with constant interruptions, while maintaining a focus on children and meeting program requirements Regular attendance during scheduled work hours. Must present a professional and positive demeanor in behavior and dress. Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation for diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds of families served.
