Preschool Teacher (Early Childhood Education)

Location: The Learning Experience - Gurnee, IL

Pay: $18-$19.25 per hour (based on experience and credentials)

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

Shift Options: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Preschool Teacher

The Learning Experience - Gurnee is seeking a caring and dependable Preschool Teacher to support children ages 3-5 in a structured classroom environment focused on kindergarten readiness, creativity, and social-emotional development.

This role is ideal for educators who enjoy helping young learners build confidence and independence through engaging classroom experiences, hands-on learning, and positive daily routines.

Our onboarding and classroom training programs help teachers feel supported from day one while continuing to grow professionally within a collaborative school culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily preschool classroom routines and learning activities
  • Support early literacy, math readiness, and problem-solving development
  • Create a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
  • Encourage social-emotional growth and positive classroom participation
  • Implement developmentally appropriate activities using the L.E.A.P. Curriculum
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding classroom progress and milestones
  • Collaborate with teaching team members and center leadership
  • Maintain compliance with Illinois licensing and safety requirements

Qualifications

  • Genuine passion for early childhood education and working with preschool-aged children
  • Minimum 6 months of professional teaching experience required
  • 1 year of preschool or childcare experience preferred
  • Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must meet Illinois childcare licensing requirements
