Lil Explorers is seeking an experienced Lead Preschool Teacher who is knowledgeable in DCF regulations and ELC CLASS standards and committed to maintaining excellence in early childhood education.
Position Summary:
The Lead Teacher will oversee classroom operations, ensure compliance with licensing regulations, and maintain high-quality instructional practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain full compliance with DCF licensing requirements.
• Implement and maintain ELC CLASS standards.
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers.
• Maintain child portfolios and developmental assessments.
• Create and implement weekly lesson plans and newsletters.
• Ensure classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety.
• Communicate effectively with families.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
• Support administration in maintaining a high-quality program.
Professional Requirements:
• Active CPR and First Aid certification.
• Annual professional development hours completed.
• Attendance at staff meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
• CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CLASS standards.
• Leadership experience in a preschool classroom.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
