Owensboro Catholic Schools is seeking a Preschool Teacher. The ideal candidate will be energetic, well-organized, and skilled at problem-solving, with strong written and verbal communication abilities. A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting early childhood education is essential. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, faith-filled, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. Education, Duties, and Responsibilities: •Provides developmentally appropriate care and education to children (up to five years old) in learning activities designed to promote emotional, social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual growth needed for primary school. •Plans and organizes classroom activities. •Plans and implements engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with early childhood best practices and school curriculum. •Observes and assesses student development and communicates progress with parents/guardians. •Integrate Catholic values, traditions, and teachings into daily classroom activities. • Maintains classroom structure, routines, and positive behavior expectations. • Collaborates with school staff, administration, and families to support student success. • Maintains a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment. •Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field required. •Prior experience working with preschool-aged children preferred. •Practicing Catholic preferred. •Ability to lift and carry up to 25–40 pounds. •Ability to actively engage with young children (sitting, standing, kneeling, and playing). The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check and complete safe environment training for the Diocese of Owensboro before employment can be granted. |
