Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a current, valid state-issued drivers license. This requirement is a selective placement factor and will be used as a screen-out. Applicants must possess this requirement by the closing date of the announcement. The selectee will be required to provide proof prior to appointment. OPMs Job Qualifications System for Trades and Labor Occupations will be used to determine qualifications. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, applicants must demonstrate through experience shown in their resume that they possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision.
To qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate you possess sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job elements:

Physical Demands: The work requires considerable physical effort and stamina. Duties involve frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and/or working from ladders, scaffolds, rooftops, and/or uneven terrain. The incumbent regularly uses hand and power tools and performs tasks requiring manual dexterity and coordination. Work may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and/or moving materials, tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 80 pounds. The incumbent must be physically able to perform the duties of the position and maintain these requirements throughout employment.
Work Environment: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and ice. Duties may be performed at elevations ranging from sea level to approximately 10,000 feet. The work environment may include exposure to dust, dirt, noise, vibration, and hazards associated with the use of hand and power tools, equipment, and construction materials. Employees may occasionally be exposed to hazardous substances, biological hazards, and wildlife. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required, and all safety and occupational health regulations must be followed.
