Preserve Data Integration Specialist

The Preserve Data Integration Specialist will work across teams within the Leveraging our Lands program to collect, manage and maintain preserve-based infrastructure data and provide technical support in ArcGIS or other relational database technologies to Conservancy staff. The Preserve Data Integration Specialist will be responsible for coordinating with BU staff to gather existing data and collect new infrastructure data at a selection of preserves that will be prioritized for visitation. They will perform data analysis; design and produce advanced complex queries and professional reports, process spatial and other relational data sets derived from cartographic and tabular source material and provide hardware/software support. The Preserve Data Integration Specialist will additionally develop and deliver training to staff individually and in groups, produce maps and other graphic products and reports. They develop and maintain GIS library and/or database products library and compiles, assembles, and maintains land protection, biodiversity, and management information from various sources.

The Preserve Data Integration Specialist is a remote position in the United States. The Preserve Data Integration Specialist role will travel in the US is required up to 30% time. In this role, the Specialist will need the ability to traverse various, rugged terrains (from sandy beaches, to roots, and rocks) with slopes >25% as needed.

The person in this role will identify and collect existing field data and conduct field-based infrastructure and accessibility assessments for approximately 150 preserves to be identified in collaboration with the Leveraging Our Lands - Visitor Activation Strategy Team. Infrastructure and Accessibility Assessments will be completed using newly developed ArcGIS online tools and through the Universal Trail Assessment Process. Collaboration with Preserve based staff and volunteers is required. Knowledge of accessibility laws and best practices and the Principals for Equitable Conservation is desired.

Upon completion of the field surveys and/or data collection, the staff person will be responsible for managing data to be used with TNC's Land Asset Management system, by reviewing all points, lines, and polygons, ensuring data quality and accuracy. The person in this position will help create BU specific Dashboards and Reports to support implementation of Recreational Trail Best Practices and Accessibility Guidelines and Visitor Activation Strategy.

What You'll Bring:

• MS or BS degree and certification in related field and 3 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  
• Experience managing, maintaining, and populating databases and manual files.
  
• Experience with interpretation of image analysis, complex spatial analysis, data modeling and landscape scenario analysis.
  
• Experience managing multiple projects.
  
• Experience operating GIS software, analyzing data and producing data reports and creating maps.
  
• Experience interpreting results then developing and delivering training (if required) to practitioners.
  
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Web Browsers.
  

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Universal Trail Assessment Process (UTAP) or Highly Efficient Trail Assessment Process (HETAP).
  
• Ability to interpret and apply guidelines from the Americans with Disabilities Act, Architectural Barriers Act - Outdoor Developed Area Accessibility Guidelines.
  
• Aptitude for managing and prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines while delivering quality results.
  
• Aptitude for planning field-based site visits in coordination with BU level staff and community partners.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to serve a large community of practitioners across a various set of business units.
  

This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with TNC's Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the
