We are seeking an accomplished executive to lead a well-established manufacturing and industrial technology business through its next stage of growth. This individual will have broad responsibility for the company"s commercial, operational, financial, and organizational performance, with a strong emphasis on building the business, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding into new markets.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of business leadership, manufacturing expertise, commercial acumen, and a hands-on management style. This person will work closely with leaders across sales, engineering, manufacturing, operations, and finance to turn strategic objectives into measurable results.
What You"ll Do
- Set the overall business vision and translate long-term goals into actionable plans.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve margins, expand market share, and strengthen the company"s competitive position.
- Develop strategies for entering new industries, applications, geographic markets, and customer segments.
- Monitor industry developments, customer needs, emerging technologies, and competitive activity.
- Assess potential partnerships, distribution opportunities, acquisitions, and other avenues for expansion.
- Present business plans, performance updates, opportunities, and risks to senior corporate leadership.
Sales & Customer Leadership
- Take an active role in growing the company"s customer base and strengthening existing strategic relationships.
- Build relationships with key accounts and serve as an executive-level point of contact for important customers and opportunities.
- Work with the commercial team to improve pipeline development, forecasting, pricing, and order growth.
- Support the development of domestic and international sales channels and distribution partnerships.
- Participate directly in major customer negotiations, sales opportunities, and business development initiatives.
- Maintain a strong understanding of customer requirements and market demand to guide future business decisions.
Manufacturing & Operations
- Provide leadership across manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, quality, inventory, and operational functions.
- Establish priorities that improve productivity, quality, delivery performance, and cost control.
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams on new product development and commercialization.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve overall operational performance.
- Ensure the organization has the resources, systems, and processes necessary to support continued growth.
- Promote a culture centered on accountability, safety, quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
Financial & Organizational Leadership
- Maintain accountability for the company"s P&L and overall financial health.
- Work with finance to establish budgets, monitor results, manage expenses, and improve profitability.
- Use financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring corrective action.
- Build and develop a strong leadership team capable of supporting the company"s growth objectives.
- Oversee staffing, organizational planning, performance management, leadership development, and succession planning.
- Establish clear expectations and hold teams accountable for achieving business objectives.
Corporate & External Relationships
- Work effectively with corporate leadership and leverage resources available across the broader organization.
- Represent the business with customers, suppliers, industry organizations, strategic partners, and other external stakeholders.
- Ensure company activities remain aligned with applicable regulatory, safety, export-control, and corporate requirements.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the organization"s role within the larger corporate structure while preserving an entrepreneurial and customer-focused operating environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor"s degree in business, engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred.
- Significant leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial technology, capital equipment, automation, welding, or a closely related industry.
- Proven experience managing a business or significant business unit with responsibility for financial and operating results.
- Demonstrated ability to grow revenue, develop new business, and expand customer relationships.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, product development, and industrial operations.
- Experience leading teams across multiple functional areas.
- Strong understanding of P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, partners, and senior corporate leadership.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment while operating effectively within a larger corporate organization.
