This position will be placed on the College hourly rates scale, Grade 1 with a minimum starting hourly rate of $15.00.DescriptionDepartment: Strategic Marketing & Brand ManagementPay Grade: 1 Student Rate – $15.00/hourFLSA Status: Non-ExemptJOB SUMMARYThe President's Intern will actively support and communicate the president's initiatives through participation in strategic events, content creation, and social media management. This role involves engaging with community and college events, crafting strategic content to promote initiatives, and maintaining the president's presence on digital platforms. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Digital Marketing and Strategy.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Event participation as directedContent creationSocial media managementReporting and documentationLeadership development and training participationParticipate in strategic communication planningPerform other duties as assignedJob RequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:HS Diploma/GED or current dually enrolled studentOpen to current Carroll Community College students onlyAbility to follow specific directions provided by the supervisor and able to receive constructive feedbackAbility to maintain professionalism and confidentialityEffective communication skills – ability to interact with diverse student body, faculty, staff, and community membersKnowledge of and ability to create content on and manage College social media platformsAbility to operate basic office equipmentActive listening skills and ability to understand in a way to dictate back a clear understanding of what was discussedMust be positive, flexible, cooperative, and supportivePHYSICAL DEMANDS:The work is normally sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicateVisual Acuity – Ability to perceive or detect surroundingsMental acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand and convey subject matterRepetitive motion (i.e., keyboarding)Stand/sit/walk – Able to move or traverse from one area to anotherWORK ENVIRONMENT:College campus, direct contact with students, staff, faculty and the general public in classrooms, common and shared areas, offices, and campus environments. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms. Use of safe workplace practices with office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing with some highly technical applications and new technology systems; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations; observance of college vehicle policies and laws when/if driving a college vehicle and observance of all college policies. The internship is conducted in a controlled and supportive setting, focusing on digital tasks and structured engagements that ensure a safe and stable work environment. Carroll employees may live in other states, but they must physically work in Maryland the majority of the time.
