Press Assistant
Shift: 3rd, (Hours May Vary)
Pay: $22/hr (Based on Experience)
We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Press Assistant to support operations on a wide web flexographic printing press. This full-time position assists the Press Operator with setup, operation, maintenance, and cleanup while ensuring quality production standards are met safely and efficiently.
Job Description:
- Assist with setup, operation, and cleanup of flexographic printing presses
- Load and unload film, plates, anilox rollers, and press materials
- Mix inks and maintain proper ink viscosity levels
- Handle, label, store, and dispose of solvents properly
- Read and follow job tickets and production specifications
- Clean plates, cylinders, ink pans, rollers, guards, and doctor blades
- Change doctor blades and assist with deck rebuilds
- Monitor print quality and assist with troubleshooting print issues
- Record ink, solvent, labor, scrap, and production data accurately
- Learn and understand web path through the press
- Operate core cutter equipment
- Relieve press operators during breaks when trained
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness around press equipment
